About Colva Beach
Colva is the largest beach in Goa which boasts of a seemingly endless
stretch of velvety sand, shimmering blue sea waters and green palms that
stretch the entire length of this picturesque beach. Colva beach did not
qualify as a major attraction until recently when it was frequented by few
foreign tourists and was mainly used as a hangout spot by locals and
residents of nearby Margao. But, with the dramatic improvement of tourist
facilities in recent years and the coming up of a number of charming beach
resorts, Colva has become one of the region's major tourist attractions and
is visited by thousands of tourists every year, both local and foreign.
Colva beach can be visited anytime of the year, however it is best to avoid
the monsoon months between June and October when the rain often deluges the
place. The best time to visit the place are the months from November to
February when the weather is pleasant and the conditions are ideal for a
visit.
