Description
No living structure on earth can ever equal the architectural beauty of the Taj Mahal. Though when we talk about a replica of the Taj, on a small scale of course, the Bibi Ka Maqbara in Aurangabad (Maharashtra) at once comes to our mind. Considered to be one of finest examples of Persian architecture, the structure invites travellers from across the world. This is not the lone structure or monument that calls for a visit to western India, there are a few others as well, to complete your monument tours through India. Even these monuments are known for their ingenious detailed work of architecture. And a visit to these monuments of western India would surely add much to your experience.

Moving towards Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra, you come across the towering Gateway of India. The 26-metre-high structure was designed by George Whittet; the construction began in 1911 and took 13 years to complete. The monument commemorates the visit of King George V and Queen Mary. There is yet another worth-seeing monument, the Daulatabad Fort, located 20 miles northwest of Aurangabad in the state of Maharashtra. You can read about all of these in detail.
