About Ajmer Pilgrimage

Encased
with the beauty of nature, the scared Ajmer has its existence in the central
part of Rajasthan. The city was established by Raja Ajay Pal Chauhan in the
7th Century and treasures the blissful mausoleum of Sufi saint Khwaja
Moinuddin Chishti. The place is believe to hold the charisma of God and as
such devotees of all religious visit the place. Ajmer had great historic
significance of the ruling dynasties of several Muslim and Rajputana, which
can easily be observed with the cultural and traditional aura of this
pilgrimage city. The city has faced its ill- fate since the time it was
sacked Mahumud of Ghazni on one of ruler of Afghanistan. Later in 1818, the
British administration took over its charge and became a few controlled

Religious Attractions at Ajmer
The Dargah Sharif
Located in the old town of Rajasthan, Dargah Sharif is one of the most
religious places for Muslim pilgrims. The sprawing tomb stands at the foot
hill and is the home to a Suffi saint, Khwaja Muin-ud-din Chishti. The place
is valued with the tale of later life of the saint from 1192 till his death
in 1236. The complex is also adorned with a number of huge courtyards and
beautiful mosques. A massive gates open the way to inner complex, wherein
the holy tomb is positioned underneath a ceiling, wrapped with a beautiful
white marbles. The place is sprinkled with the magical power served to
fulfill the lingered dreams of the devotees and pilgrims and every year on
the anniversary of the Saint's death, thousands of pilgrims pay tribute to
the heavenly to the sufi saint.
Pushkar Lake
A sacred town for the Hindus, Pushkar is situated 11 kms to the North-West
of Ajmer district of Rajasthan. History has marked its existence with
Pushkar Lake, created by Lord Brahma in 4th century B.C. The lake has 52
bank all of which are surrounded by hills on three side and the shimmering
500 temples. It is believed that the lake has the mystical water able to
cure various skin diseases of those who shower in its Ghat. Every year, on
the month of November, the most popular Pushkar cattle and camel fair are
held on the banks of the lake. The occasion stretches to a week and welcome
several traders and tourist to cherish the cultural aspect of Rajasthan.
Nasiya Temple
This beautiful red Jain temple is situated at Prithviraj road, in the center
of the Ajmer town. Popularly known as Nasiya this temple belong to the
Digambar section of Jainism and was endowed in 1865 . It has the amazing
double storeyed hall embellished with large gold plated wooden figures,
glass mosaic, precious stones, gold and silver work. The excellent display
of the temple has left some people to call it as Soni Ji Ki Nasiyan.

Sanganer Airport, situated at a distance of 143 km from Jaipur.
By Rail :Ajmer junction connects Jaipur from other major
cities of the country. A few train like the Ajmer Shatabdi ply directly from
Delhi to Jaipur.
By Road :Visitors can also enjoy a comfortable journey by
roads. Ajmer has good connecting routes with its neighbouring cities like
Jaipur, Bharatpur, Delhi, Pushkar, Bikaner and Agra. Deluxe coaches run from
