States of West India Information
Northern part of India is enriched with different cultures religions,
marvelous monuments, immense wildlife parks and sanctuaries, holy rivers,
majestic Himalayas, and diversified climate conditions. The whole of north
India borders countries like Pakistan, China, Nepal and Bhutan from
northwest to northeast.
The west Indian states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa though being closely
situated are so distinct in terms of landscape and culture that their
geographical nearness is sometimes hard to believe for the tourist. The
western part of India has been witness to hectic activity since ancient
times when the Arab traders touched down on the coast of Gujarat and
subsequently laid the foundations of a flourishing export and import trade.
The ruins of Harappan civilisation recovered here are some 3500 years old
while the mythical city of Dwarka supposed to be founded by Lord Krishna
dates even further back to 5000 years.
